We do not produce a glossy catalog since the web allows us the luxury of updating varieties, photos and availability at a moment's notice. It also saves us a huge expense which we don't have to pass on in the price of our plants. If you would like to be on our emailing list for our annual newsletter and occasional sales announcements, please subscribe on this page or send a self-addressed stamped business envelope to Amity Heritage Roses, PO Box 357, Hydesville, CA 95547 for a hard copy of the annual list available each January. If you prefer a non-computer-dependent reference, our web pages can be printed off your computer for personal reference only. All of our web content and photos are copyright protected and we request that you inquire (change the 2 to @) about purchasing their use, if desired.
Important to note: All of our roses are grown on their own roots and shipped in 6 x 3 x 3-inch band pots (also known as pints or tree-bands). Sometimes we offer Gallon pots of larger plants which do cost more to ship. We do not ship grafted or bare-root plants at this time. Please read the own-root and plant information pages if you have any questions about what we offer.
As far as we know, we were among the first rose nurseries on the web (1997/98) and the first to post a photo of the size plants that we ship. Other reputable places have followed suit - hurray for the customer! Of course every variety has its own growth habit and that will be evident even at the beginning of life, as shown in this photo of our bands at right. Our own-root plants are 8-12 months old and average 10-18" of top growth with roots typically showing out the bottom of the pot. They are grown in a cold frame without simulated heat or light so that we get the winter protection that we need in our climate, and you get THE largest, best adaptable plants in bands for your gardens. Some of our bands could compare equally with some other companies' gallons, only the bands are lighter for less expense in shipping. Current availability and pricing are noted on the Availability List.
Your order is personally managed by the two of us and we do not ship until the plants reach Tracy's high standards which allow for excellent transplanting using our detailed planting instructions that come with each order. With proper planting and nurturing our plants will produce new canes and most will bloom the current year, depending on variety, weather conditions and care.
The table links below will take you to varieties and small photos organized by rose class of those we usually carry. Check the Availability List for current status and prices.
We highly recommend that you don't just take our word for it, but read what our customers have to say about our plants and service. Thanks very much.
